Product: Salifert Profi Test Silicate - one pack is enough for about 60 measurements - the range is 0,03-30 ppm SiO2
Information:
Silicates are found mainly in tap water or in that of osmosis where facilities are not functioning properly. The presence of silicates not only favors a "blooming" Junk diatoms but may also block some essential trace elements such as vanadium and molybdenum. Salifert test provides a very sensitive and accurate.
Operating Instructions:
a) Pour 1 ml of water in the tube with the aid of the syringe
b) Add 4 drops of reagent Si-1 (low precision 2 drops), stirred slowly for 10 seconds and let stand for 5 minutes
c) Add 4 drops of reagent Si-2 (low precision 2 drops) stirred slowly for 10 seconds (low precision use 2 drops instead of 4)
d) Add one scoop of powder-3 agitated slowly for 20 seconds (low precision use 2 drops instead of 4)
e) Place the tube open on the color chart on a white part and compared the color. From this you can deduce the corresponding concentration of silicates. An intermediate color corresponds to an intermediate concentration.
If you chose the Precision Bass multiply the result by ten values are in ppm of silicon oxide, to convert the values in silicates, multiplied by 2.1.
Caution:
Avoid using tap water or osmosis, which contains more than 2 ppm of silicates. The silicon content in seawater must be within the limits measured by the test. |
