Hatching instructions form maximum yeld:
Prepare hatching solution from tap water using non-ionized salt or use seawater. Concentration of salt can range from 15-30 PPT. Recommended pH 8.0 - 8.5. To increase the pH, add sodium bicarbonate. Experiment with your local water for optimum hatch.
Add cystis at the rate of 1 - 1.5 grams per liter of hatching solution. Apply sufficient aeration to keep cysts in suspension. Wash cysts that may stick to the upper sides of hatching tank back into solution.
During incubation, maintain hatching solution temperature at 30°C (86°F), and provide natural or artificial light.
After hatching is complete, stop aeration and allow the hatching solution to rest for ten minutes. Siphon naupli into a fine mesh net. Rinse with fresh water before feeding.
- After opening, protect from humidity store in a cool, dry place.
