Features:
Alkalinity characterizes the buffer capacity, i.e. the capacity necessary to maintain the pH value of fresh and marine water. It is formed through the amount of hydrogen carbonates present in the water and with the increase of the pH value also through the hydroxide ions. Too low a quantity of hydrogen carbonates can lead to a decrease in the pH value, which is very dangerous for the life of many fish and invertebrates.
In a seawater aquarium the alkalinity should range between 8 and 12 dKH (German degrees of carbonate).
Unica's new KH Professional test is one of the most precise and allows you to determine the kh value with a resolution down to 0.1° dH.
The high precision is given by the use of a 1ml syringe with a graduated scale scanned in values of 0.01ml. The color changes rapidly from turquoise to pink and is easily visible.
The content is sufficient for about 100 tests at a resolution of 0.2°dH in water with 10°dH or 50 tests at a resolution of 0.1°dH in water with 20°dH. |
