Zeolite economic dispenser, biological material for the abatement of ammonium and ammonia values
Features:
Zeolite is a naturally microporous rock of volcanic origin. The crystalline lattice of zeolites consists of SiO4- and AlO4- tetrahedra. This is a complex spatial arrangement of regular voids.
The most extraordinary feature of zeolite is its high adsorbing capacity. The concentration of many pollutants is broken down. Ammonia and ammonium are reliably linked. With this, in the first phase of the nitrification chain the formation of nitrites is prevented and therefore the accumulation of nitrates in the aquarium waters is also prevented. The reduction of nutrients is a disincentive to the growth of algae and promotes the colors of the corals.
This material should be conveniently placed in various filters of any shape or even in bags positioned where water passes.
Zeolite mixture has been selected to break down the excesses of ammonia. It has applications in both marine and freshwater aquariums. |
