Product: Aquael® BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600
What is BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600?
BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600 is a unique element intended for biological filtration of water in freshwater and seawater aquariums, paludariums, aqua-terrariums and terrarium pools. It has the form of bowls made of fine-pore sintered glass ensuring exceptionally high filtration surface.
How does BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600 work?
The internal surface of pores of the BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600 bowls placed in an aquarium filter with time becomes home to useful strains of nitrifying bacteria of the genera Nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter. These microbes burn in their vital processes metabolites toxic for fish: ammonia (Nitrosomonas) and nitrites (Nitrobacter) - oxidizing them to nitrate form, far safer for aquarium residents.
When and where is BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600 useful?
BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600 is perfect as a filtration bed in canister filters, overflow filters, sumps, filtration stacks. It can be successfully applied in both freshwater and seawater aquariums. It is particularly recommended for tanks with large fish and large numbers of fish.
How to apply BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600?
BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600 is ready for use out-of-the-box and does not require rinsing or any other additional actions. The content of the package should be poured into a filtration basket or filtration chamber. In order to ensure optimum application results it is recommended to place the BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600 element behind mechanical and in front of chemical filtration elements.
How long does BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600 work?
A BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600 element may be applied for a very long time without replacement, however it is subject to slow, gradual wear as a result of crumbling, which diminishes its effectiveness. In order to ensure optimum effect it is recommended to replace every 6-12 months ca. ⅓ of the element with new material. When cleaning the filter, the element should be rinsed in the dirty water drained from the aquarium.
Caution!!! Do NOT wash a BioCeraMAX Pro element under running tap water, as will cause its sterilization.
