Features:
In the aquarium the replenishment of the total alkalinity, separate from that of the total hardness, may be necessary on some specific occasions. In particular when there is something in the tank that unbalances the chemistry of the water in favor of the concentrations of Calcium and Magnesium (GH) (for example of dolomitic rocks or with the presence of gypsum). That is when something (for example an "allophan" substrate loaded with H + ions) breaks down the bicarbonates dissolved in water. In these circumstances, it is possible to try to rebalance Alkalinity (KH) and GH through an appropriate combination of the following two actions: 1) Replacement of part of the water in the tank with osmosis water, until the Total Hardness (GH) is lowered and brought to the desired value 2) Reconstitution of Total Alkalinity, through ReBalance KH +, until it reaches the desired value.
