HI 9813-6 is supplied complete with probe pH / EC / TDS / T HI 1285-6, pH and conductivity calibration solutions, cleaning solution, test solution, leatherette case, battery and instructions.
A generic pH electrode provides an output of 0 mV when placed in a solution at pH 7.
This voltage can occur even in cases of anomalies, for example, a: pH sensitivity of the bulb break, short circuit or cable connector, electrical cable and connector loss (for example, conditions of excessive moisture) .
In these error conditions, the instrument displays on the display the value of pH 7 and then the user is not able to identify measures to be wrong remedies.
To avoid this problem HANNA Instruments has applied the new technology FST Instrument HI 9813-6. With this special security system in case of malfunction of reading, the tool does not display multiple values close to pH 7, but at pH 4, thus making evident the presence of failure.
To allow the user to properly use the new technology, the instrument was equipped with two indicator lights (LED) and a button "Check".
Pressing this button, after soaking the electrode in the solution HI 50021P (solution Cal Check), the instrument turns on the LED corresponding to the state of the electrode.
You can then have the lighting of the green LED ( "OK") if the electrode is working properly or the red ( "C & C Clean & Cal) if the electrode has a drawback.
