Classification: concentrated source of humic substances
Physical state: Liquid solution
Available Sizes: 125-ml, 250-ml, 500-ml.
General technical information:
Humic substances are derivatives of natural organic substances found in soil and, most important factor (for aquarium), many streams and rivers flowing in the forests. They are composed of humic and fulvic acids produced by the natural decomposition of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, etc.. One characteristic of moist substances is their dark brown color, which is responsible for the color of the ground. Soluble humic substances significantly increase the bioavailability to plants of multivalent cations (many of which are important nutrients), forming temporary links with their ions, and making their absorption more directly.
This will also increase the effectiveness of supplements that contain these ions. The rivers' s dark waters are so named for the color of their waters, which can vary from light brown to the dark (due to humic substances present), but are always transparent. There are many great rivers of dark water in the Amazon and Orinoco River basin, as well as in the forests of Southeast Asia, and all these rivers are habitat for important species of fish. Recreating a biotype of this type is, therefore, essential if you want to have these fish in the aquarium.
Gradually increase the concentration of humic substances in the aquarium is an effective way to stimulate reproduction in fish, particularly in the Discus, Cardinal tetra-and other native species from the dark waters of rivers like the Rio Negro. In general, the concentration of humic substances increases during periods of heavy rainfall or flooding, (rainy season), these periods coincide in many rivers, with fish reproduction. The addition of Brightwell Aquatics Aquarium Blackwater slightly increased acidity of water, and fade in proportion to the dosage used, the volume of water throughout the system and the method of chemical filtration used. In general, the higher the dose, the greater the change in coloration of the water. The additive also soften the water, as a result of a natural chelating action performed by humic substances. All these environmental changes and chemical signals are read by the fish like to kick off the play.
- Create water conditions similar to those found in the rivers of black water in South America, many of these rivers are the natural habitat of many fish and plants important to the aquarium.
- Can be used to simulate the start of the rainy season to encourage the reproduction and deposition in fish.
- Make humic substances (humic acid and fulvic acids), complex organic molecules, known to increase the bioavailability of many important nutrients for plants (such as iron, calcium, magnesium, molybdenum, copper, zinc, cobalt and nickel), these substances also enhances the effectiveness of supplements administered in aquarium
- Formulated based on extensive research on the nutritional needs of plants and the chemistry of water fluaviali.
Instructions and Guidelines:
Methods for chemical filtration (such as macroporous resins) that aggressively absorb organic materials, humic substances from water quickly estrarranno aquarium useful feature if you're trying to eliminate these substances, but harmful if incorporated. In the latter case, it is preferable to use activated carbon as filter media.
Normal: Add 5 ml of Blackwater every 80 liters of water once a week. When used in this way, 250 ml of product treats up to 4000 liters of water. If you wish, you can increase the dosage to achieve specific shades of color in the water or to increase the bioavailability of some nutrients useful to plants. In principle, it is always preferable to daily dosing rather than weekly, to maintain a more constant and natural. To make this type of administration, add 6 drops every 80 liters per day. Adequate doses after 3 - 5 weeks, depending on the appearance of plants and fish, and your perception of the need for nutrients in the tank.
As an aid to reproduction: Consult scientific equipment to ascertain the specific needs of the species of fish that you want to breed in the aquarium and use this product following the instructions for a period of 6 days increased the daily dose of 6 drops every 40 liters' water increases by one drop per day (so the dosage, the sixth day, will be increased to six drops every 40 liters). Maintain this dosage until the fish have completed their reproduction and the eggs are hatched, at this point, return gradually to a dose of the base. Blackwater adding directly to water used for the changes you will have a very positive effect. Even an increase in water temperature and the administration of food, in union as suggested above, often stimulates the fish to reproduce. Careful, increase the food will increase pollution in the tank, so water changes should be more frequent
Precautions: Keep out of reach of children. Not for human use.
